Bärenjäger

Bärenjäger is a name steeped in tradition. While living in Chile, SA I adopted my first German Shepherd and named him Bale. As a nickname, I called him Baily, which the Chileans associated with Baily's Irish Cream. After about 5 years they mustered the courage to ask why I named my dog after liquor. When I moved to Ecuador, I decided it was too funny to let go, so I named my second GSD Bacardi. Bärenjäger is my third GSD; it is a great name for a great dog. Meaning bear hunter in German, Bärenjäger is a honey liqueur and continues both the B and liquor themes.

Meet Bärenjäger

As of April Bärenjäger is 18 months old. He has learned all of his commands in Italian and English and our current goal is walking without pulling. He is well socialized and has a great temperment. He is not aggressive or possessive of his food or toys. He gets along well with cats and smaller animals. He has never chewed on furniture or shoes, although he does seem to like carboard boxes. He eats high quality food and loves apples, bananas, and string cheese as long as it's torn apart. He has all of his papers and is ready for a girlfriend.
